This property, located at the end of small road out of the hilltown of Protolungo, is isolated and private save for the main house behind it. High above Pettenasco, it is built into the hillside and under the drive to the main house. Probably a former well-house, it consists of one room on top of the other with the main bedroom at the top (there is a small bath up there). The main floor of kitchen, bath, and living room is comfortable and cool, looking out into the lush green forest. Views of the lake are from the walkway approach, or the upper floors.
It was very quiet and peaceful - we enjoyed listening to the birds and watching the many resident lizards that scurried around and in and out of the house. The grounds planting are tasteful and well maintained. It was a welcome place to return to from the hot valley below. Ann & Roger, Redwood City, California, USA

The castle was a great place to vacation with friends. The rooms were interesting and so different that anything else we could have chosen! Montegufoni is near enough to Florence that it was an easy day trip, and we were so glad to not be staying in the city! The views from the castle are amazing. I would definitely recommend staying here!

We had a wonderfull time in villa Fabbroni. The owners were helpfull and the dinners were perfect!

The reason it has taken a while to comment on this villa is the difficulty in finding the words to give in its praise. The villa in Wonderful situated at the hillside giving a panoramic view even when you are at the side of the beautiful pool. The caring received from Italiano family made this holiday a memorable experience. We have toured Spain, south of France but being in this villa and being looked after by the owner made the Toscany trip to come on the Top.

Stefano and Seregio were two of the nicest people we have ever met. Very pleasant and helpfull. Ralph was a source of real pleasure.

Our stay at Val di Gallo was more than we expected. Our hosts were gracious and helpful. The property was very well maintained and lovely. We highly recommed Val di Gallo as a travel "hub" for visiting Tuscany. Poggibonsi is easily accessible to highways and centrally located to visit major cities.

The villa was excellent as was the lady who welcomed us and was our contact during the stay. The villa itself and the pool were perfect for our party of 12 with its pool and facilities to eat indoors or out. Having all those bathrooms was fantastic so there was never any queuing. Everything was wonderfully clean and welcoming. The furnishings could perhaps do with a bit of an uplift but are perfectly comfortable. Overall an excellent choice for a large party.

Our stay at La Salilcia was superb. Our hostess, Francesca was very pleasant and helpful. The bedrooms were spacious and well decoracted, and most of them have there own bathroom. The house easilly accomodated our group of 13 people (we had 15 people for a couple of our nights). Some of our party enjoyed the beautiful pool - even though in late May the water was still a little bit cool, while others enjoyed sitting by the pool and relaxing in the fresh country air. On the warm days, it was easy to keep the villa cool by opening the windows in the evening and letting the breeze cool things down. Those of us more energetic walked to the nearby towns (this is a 20 - 40 minute walk, depending on which of the 3 towns you walk to.) All in all it was a wonderful experience.

Overall a wonderful stay at this Villa. We were a group of Vespa riders from a Club in Santa Barbara, Ca and arranged for Vespa's to be delivered to the Villa upon arrival.
The Villa served as our home base and was in an excellent location. The property was
very beautiful and private and the pool was great. Each bedroom had it's own private bathroom as well as a 9th powder room downstairs. Worked well for a group of 13, excellent living spaces inside and out! Note: Also a wood burning pizza oven outside which we fired up one night. Would recommend arranging more dinners to be provided by Luchia the caretaker since this property is a bit remote to go out for dinner each night! La Miccia was a lovely "home" for our 5 days in Tuscany. Located in quaint, little Pergine Valdarno, it was a good, convenient "home-base" for seeing the area. Clean, spacious and "very Tuscan" our villa was a great choice. (THE only negative was the hot tub...lukewarm and noisy.) Marina and Francesco were warm, gracious hosts, as well. Highly recommend it!
